James Carrigy grew up in North Brisbane and has always had a passion for biological sciences and people-oriented jobs. He graduated in South East Queensland's Griffith University Dental School where he obtained his general dental degrees, a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry; receiving the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence. Through his work, he developed an interest in periodontal disease, dental implants, regeneration, grafting, and the relationship between dental health and life long general health. He later returned to his Alma mater for a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics, becoming a registered dental specialist.

James is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP) and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). James' research into dental implants has been published in an international peer reviewed journal. He also maintains an active membership in local dental study clubs throughout Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast and regularly attends international congresses to keep up with the cutting edge of Periodontics and Dental Implants. In his free time James enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He is an avid reader, photographer, traveller, hiker and skiier.
