DR. DANIEL MCKENZIE

Daniel has recently joined the Foundation Dental Services team as a specialist periodontist. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide and went on to practice general dentistry in South Australia and Victoria. He developed an interest in periodontics during his undergraduate degree which later led him to relocate to Brisbane where he completed his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Periodontics) at the University of Queensland and was accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).  

Daniel has been awarded the Research Medallion by the Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS) for his research in the field of dental implants and he is actively involved in furthering his education through memberships of the ADA, ANZAP, ASP, RACDS and local dental study clubs. He has presented at the EFP symposium in the Netherlands and has been involved in teaching at UQ in a clinical demonstrator position.  

Dr McKenzie is passionate about providing specialist periodontal care (including treatment of periodontitis, implant surgery, hard and soft tissue augmentation and minor oral surgeries) in conjunction with general dentists and other dental specialists to produce the best outcomes for their patients.  

Outside of dentistry, Daniel enjoys being active - cycling, running, diving and hiking. He is always eager to hear about trekking recommendations and outside the clinic you might see him exploring the SE QLD coast.
